BIO
James Thomas Pietz (Jim) was born on January 17, 1959 in Huntington, West Virginia where he lived until 1973. He graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School, Overland Park, Kansas in 1977. Jim attended the University of Kansas where he earned his bachelors degree in liberal arts, with an emphasis in psychology, and graduated with honors in 1981. He attended law school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and graduated with honors in 1984. While attending law school he served as a casenote editor for the law review and authored two articles that were published in the UMKC Law Review. He became a member of the Missouri Bar in 1984 and the Kansas Bar in 1988. Jim became a partner with Blevins, White, Pietz & Myers law firm, now Blevins & Pietz, P.C. in 1987. Since 1987, he has consistently served the community as a general practitioner, practicing in the following areas: personal injury, civil litigation, malpractice, domestic/family law, workers compensation, bankruptcy, probate & estate planning and criminal & traffic. His outside interests include his family and pets, collecting coins, collecting rock and mineral specimens and karate where he has earned his third degree black belt. He is a member of the Lee's Summit Methodist Church and the Lee's Summit Masons.
